Calculated Industries is a leading manufacturer of specialty calculators and digital measuring tools. The company was founded in 1978 by brothers Ken and Fred Alexander in Orange County, California. Currently, Ken Alexander is the CEO and Judy Alexander is the CFO of the company.
The company's first calculator was the Loan Arranger, a simple to use loan amortization calculator which was marketed to the real estate industry. In ensuing years, other specialty calculators were introduced and marketed to financial planners, contractors, carpenters, radio and television broadcast professionals, educators, electricians, machinists, and quilters.
Calculated Industries manages the entire process, from market research to software design, testing, manufacturing, marketing and distributing to worldwide markets. The company also provides course materials and training for schools, colleges, career and technical programs and apprentice training programs as well as for individual customers.
In 1994 the company relocated to Carson City, Nevada, from California and currently occupies a 44,000 sq. ft. warehouse/office facility.
Calculated Industries products have won dozens of awards over the years. In 2006, Fine Homebuilding magazine, in its 25th anniversary special issue, included the Construction Master Pro as one of the " ... innovative tools that have changed the way we build ... ." In 2011, Builder magazine readers gave Calculated Industries the #1 Quality Rating for Builder Instruments. It is the fourth time CI has earned the top rating.
