|AirSHIM Pro XL - Combines Power, Versatility with Accuracy, Speed||7/28/2017|
CARSON CITY, NV - AirSHIM™ Pro XL is an inflatable pry bar and leveling tool that enables a worker to move, adjust or support objects up to 500 pounds by themselves.
Designed to help professionals and DIYs to install and level windows, doors, cabinets and appliances, the AirSHIM is a contractor-grade inflatable air wedge that can replace pry bars, wooden shims and other lifting or adjusting tools. However, users of the AirSHIM have already found a number of other uses for the product including spreading calipers to change brakes or using it in place of a felling wedge on a tree. Others have used it in fixing equipment, building furniture, adjusting HVAC, setting plumbing, positioning joists, leveling countertops and mantels, situating bathroom fixtures and more.
"After seeing the versatility of the AirSHIM, we are pumped to host an online contest for the most creative use of it later this summer," said Steve Kennedy, President of Calculated Industries. "We think the contest will help us all use the AirSHIM to its fullest potential"
The SGS Certified 500-pound load rating of the AirSHIM Pro XL is twice the rate of other products on the market. But what makes the AirSHIM so convenient is its easy one-handed operation using a simple squeeze bulb pump and precise metal bleeder valve that lets you raise and lower items into perfect alignments. The Shims stable design safely handles loads for installation with just a single installer, saving time and labor costs.
Pro XL's new design enables the wedge to span a 50% wider gap than other air wedges. It spans a gap from 3/32" to 3". An internal "stiffener" limits folding allowing insertion of the wedge into tight spaces. Plus its longer 5.25" x 10.75" rectangular design stabilizes its load. The new lifting surface also limits folding or wrapping around narrow-edge loads. Users have also found that the narrow lifting surface provides for 75% faster lifting.
The Pro XL is made from a dense industrial material with rounded corners that provides a durable soft body that avoids scuffs and will not damage your work like a jack, shim or pry bar. You can even use it to pry objects apart like fragile baseboards and trim from a wall without damage. While the AirSHIM can support up to 500 pounds, for large or awkward objects more than one AirShim PRO XL is recommended.
