Calculated Industries, a Carson City-based manufacturer of specialty calculators, is once again a SkillsUSA national sponsor. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.
Calculated Industries is donating more than $11,000 in specialty calculators to advisers and winners of the Masonry, Residential Wiring, Culinary Arts, Framing, and TeamWorks competitions at this year's SkillsUSA Championships in Kansas City. The donated calculators include the Construction Master Pro, ConcreteCalc Pro, ElectriCalc Pro, KitchenCalc and Ultra Measure Master.
Other SkillsUSA 2008 national sponsors include Lowe's, Caterpillar, Snap-on, State Farm and Toyota. This year there will be more than 5,000 competitors in 91 hands-on skill and leadership contests.
